At just 11 years old, Ghina Audi, a Palestinian girl, has already faced challenges that would test anyone’s resilience. Raised in a little home in Dahye, she once found peace in her daily routines. “I loved our little home in Dahye. I had a routine that gave me peace. I loved going to school. I also miss my Quran lessons. I went four times a week to learn about our religion,” Ghina recalls with a soft smile.

Now displaced by the ongoing war in Lebanon, Ghina has sought refuge in the Mar Elias refugee camp with her family. The constant bombing and sonic booms have shaken their lives. “It’s very difficult to live under these circumstances. We are grateful, but the bombing and sonic booms cause a lot of stress. We are afraid we will lose our house and family,” she shares.

Despite the hardships, Ghina’s dreams shine brighter than ever. Passionate about education, she loves mathematics and physics, often turning to YouTube to continue her learning and connect with the world. “Education is very important to me. I miss my school a lot,” she says. Her aspirations range from becoming a math teacher to a doctor, both driven by her desire to help others.

Ghina’s passion for volunteering also keeps her grounded. In Mar Elias, she finds moments of purpose as she helps those around her, finding hope in the shared resilience of her community. “I dream of traveling the world one day, going on adventures, and helping others along the way,” she says.

Her story is one of perseverance and hope, a reminder that even amid war, dreams can flourish. Ghina dreams not only of a brighter future for herself but for her people, carrying with her a spirit of determination that refuses to be extinguished.
